Andy Ihnatko’s written a staggeringly good essay. I could easily blockquote the most brilliant line right here but that would ruin his carefully and lovingly crafted point. That would be giving you a cheap two second thrill when there’s a nice fancy four-course piece of joy to be had reading it as he intended.
